Dr. DeSanto chose the name Ear to Ear to emphasize the vital connection between the ears and the brain—and the role this auditory pathway plays in how we listen, learn, and communicate.
Dr. DeSanto provides comprehensive audiological evaluations (CAE) and Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) assessments for children and adults. She also has personal and professional experience with misophonia management, including tools and counseling strategies. Each evaluation is tailored to the individual and includes in-depth testing to better understand how the brain processes sound.
Following the evaluation, Dr. DeSanto offers personalized recommendations, which may include school-based accommodations, therapy strategies, or home-based support tools.

First, a comprehensive audiological evaluation is completed to rule out any deficit to the outer, middle, and/or inner ear. During the auditory processing evaluation, the auditory signal is manipulated in many different ways to challenge the auditory system. All tests are presented with earphones, using standardized test materials, in a sound treated booth. The goal of the evaluation is to describe the auditory strengths and weaknesses of the individual for the purposes of assigning educational accommodations, goals, compensatory strategies and implementing therapy. The testing takes approximately 1 to 2 hours depending on the individual with breaks taken as needed. A full report is provided within 1 week. All reports are prepared with available background history information, including any pertinent multi-disciplinary reports that have been completed and shared.
The objective is to identify the individual's specific auditory processing deficits (which are associated with a specific academic and communication difficulties) and train the auditory system to process speech and other sounds more accurately and efficiently. Dr. DeSanto is trained in Buffalo Model Therapy and ListenLoveLearn Therapy.
